Ceremonies and celebrations

For women, we recommend a Homongi (formal formal kimono). For men, if the dress code is formal (equivalent to a tailcoat or tuxedo), we recommend a black crested hakama. For semi-formal (equivalent to semi-formal wear), we recommend a regular kimono and hakama set without a crest. This can also be used for award ceremonies overseas.

Even in formal occasions, Miyakomon kimonos allow you to attend without any difference to other formal attire. You can also use kimonos in situations where it is difficult to hire a kimono dresser due to schedule or location constraints. For peace of mind, please be sure to try on the kimono the day before. If you are traveling domestically, we can also ship directly to your hotel or ceremony venue. If you are traveling overseas, please travel as carry-on luggage.
