Tea party

Tea ceremony etiquette varies depending on the school, so if you are invited as a guest, it is best to check with the organizers to be sure. If you are the host, we recommend consulting a tea master. For community tea ceremonies or tea ceremonies at school cultural festivals, casual kimonos are worn.

Our kimonos have been used at various tea ceremonies throughout Japan, including Kyoto, the home of tea. By wearing our kimonos, you can make tea ceremonies, which can seem intimidating, more accessible.

For women, Edo Komon is recommended, and for guests, Homongi is also recommended.

Men generally wear a haori coat at tea ceremonies. Plain hakama are also available. Formal white footwear is available.
