Graduation ceremony, graduation ceremony, entrance ceremony, entrance ceremony

Congratulations on your child's graduation or enrollment.

We recommend the Homongi, a formal kimono suitable for ceremonies. It can also be worn for formal occasions such as parent representative speeches or PTA president congratulatory speeches. For those who prefer a more subdued look, we recommend the Edo Komon. It features a pattern of fine vertical stripes that appear solid from a distance. It is a kimono suitable for semi-formal wear. There are no set rules for the color and pattern of either the Homongi or the Edo Komon, but spring-like colors such as pink, cream, light blue, and green are popular.

Miyakomon kimonos are less restrictive than regular kimonos, so they put less strain on the body even when worn for long periods of time, such as at a thank-you party after a graduation ceremony, and are less uncomfortable even for people who are not used to wearing kimonos.

For summer graduations and September enrollments, we recommend unlined single-layer formal kimonos or Edo komon. For ceremonies held in July or August, we recommend summer items with mesh fabric.
